A planned and well-managed employee volunteering program is considered good business practice for any size or type of business. For community groups it means access to a broader range of volunteers who bring with them specialised skills, diversity and recruitment potential. For an employee volunteering program to be successful in meeting its social and business objectives the business needs to attract and retain employee support. While BacLinks can assist businesses interested in making a social investment to source and facilitate projects and make the right connections with community groups, it is up to individual businesses to foster an environment that fosters employee participation. Strong Internal support is encouraged. Employees need to understand that employee volunteering is good for business, that their business is committed, and that they are supported in their volunteering endeavours.

The following strategies have been collected by BacLinks as a resource in achieving a successful employee volunteering program.
