Mental Health Support provides a range of community-based services and programs designed to support people with mental illness take steps towards recovery.
Personal Helpers and Mentors (PHAMS) Program
The Personal Helpers and Mentors Program is federally funded, recovery-focused program providing
guidance and support to people over the age of 16 whose lives are severely affected by mental illness.
A personal helper and mentor works with people with mental illness to set achievable personal goals. This may include working toward social and recreational opportunities, independent living and employment.

Home-based Outreach
Available to people with severe mental illness and/or thise whose require individual support to remain at home. This unique service aims to:
• Reduce isolation
• Assist with learning or re/learning activities of daily living
• Develop social skills
• Support people to access community services
Planned Respite
This service provides a much needed break for carers.
The program can be delivered in a number of ways:
• Regular planned respite
• Occasional planned respite
• Short notice respite - available to people with a mental illness and carers in times of unexpected and sudden need, such as family issues
Respite options include:
• Day activities, where the participant attends centre-based activities
• In-home respite, where a worker attends the client's own home, leaving the carer free to attend to responsibilities or simply relax
• Day or overnight stays, camps and vacations
• Residential respite
Marshall
Located on a substantial acreage and accessible by public transport, Marchall offers recreational and educational options such as nature walks, bike riding, gardening and animal care.

This comfortable, four-bedroom 'home', supports the development of domestic and life skills such as cooking, cleaning and personal care. Other activities may include art and craft, drama, music, creative writing and walking and fitness groups.
A 'drop-in' program allows people to visit Marshall for a coffee, company and/or informal support at regular, dedicated times throughout the week.
