Karingal is an approved provider of TAC Community Care and Support Services. These Community Care and Support Services are provided to clients who may have a disability or injury as a result of a transport accident, and can be provided in the client’s home and in the community.
- These services support clients to achieve maximum independence and improve their quality of life in the community.
The TAC program offers assistance to people with an accident related injury or disability in the following ways, dependent on the extent of injury:
Personal care - assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, drinking, monitoring of medication with written medical approval, fitting and using of specialised equipment, mobility and transport.
Rehabilitation support - can include assistance with muscle and tendon stretches and exercises under the guidance of health professionals, assisting with the skills of meal preparation, shopping and other daily living tasks, as approved by TAC.
Community access and recreation support - accompanying the client to a sporting facility, assisting with equipment or training, or assisting the client when using community facilities. Where appropriate, this support can be provided to a group of clients.
Overnight care - can be provided in the form of a sleepover for clients who require low level overnight support, or as an active night shift for clients with high support needs.
Travel - travel costs may only be paid where approved by TAC for activities undertaken by the client that are described in the Client Care Plan.
