Every year Karingal recognises the International Day of People with Disability.
In 2010, Karingal held an open day at its supported employment branch, Kommercial.
IDPwD is a United Nations sanctioned day that aims to promote an understanding of people with disabilities and encourage support for their dignity, rights and well-being.
IDPwD also seeks to increase awareness of the benefits of the integration of people with disability in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
The open day at Kommercial was a great success with more than 300 people attending.
It included displays of various work undertaken by Kommercial's supported employees, as well as showcasing the other service provided by Karingal.
